Taykey Trending Ads: Commercializing Great Data
Background:
Taykey - now part of Innovid - launched with a trend analysis tool that gave insight into trending topics for different audiences. Jay was recruited as the first US employee to commercialize the offering in the advertising space. Utilizing his background in media buying, he created and executed processes of applying trend targeting to managed service campaigns on Facebook, AdWords and YouTube. Taykey Ads became the company’s core revenue driver with 8 figure yearly revenues.
Jay’s Role:
Create the managed service campaign processes by manually analyzing trends from Taykey’s trend analysis platform and targeting trends on paid media platforms
Identify best platforms and operational processes to apply trend data to advertising campaigns
Collaborate with product & engineering to automate processes - including integrations with advertising platforms - in order to scale into a sustainable revenue driver
Trainin users on Taykey’s platform
Create sales materials and a wiki as a knowledge base for internal users
Results:
Taykey’s Ads became the business’ main revenue driver with 7 figure revenues in the first year growing to 8 figure revenues in subsequent years
Successful campaign delivery for Fortune 500 clients led to a commercial partnership with Google, allowing advertising clients to fulfill their upfront commitments to google via Taykey campaigns
Automation of campaign processes allowed Taykey to efficiently scale revenue with limited hiring
