Takey Salesforce: A Complete CRM Overhaul

Background:

Taykey grew from a small to a medium-sized startup, and its revenue growth outpaced CRM development. This resulted in a foggy view of Taykey’s sales funnel and unnecessary hours spent manually uploading advertising campaign reports to actualize for month-end billing. Working with the wonderful team at Shift CRM, Jay spearheaded a major multi-month project to overhaul of Taykey’s Salesforce deployment, enhancing opportunity tracking, sales forecasting, and reducing billing closing from one week to one day.

Jay’s Role:

  • Conduct interviews with internal users from every function to understand pain points and feature requests

  • Map Taykey’s entire CRM process from lead identification through billing and developed end-to-end requirements, including the ability to automate the ingestion of campaign reports from disparate ad platforms and map them to opportunities

  • Successfully manage a partner Salesforce engineering consultancy to deliver on requirements, build template Salesforce reports, and test extensively before deployment

Results:

  • All closed opportunities correctly reported actualized delivery on a daily basis, allowing sales and operations teams to identify at-risk campaigns on the homepage dashboard

  • End of month billing process reduced from 2 weeks to 1 day with a single-click report

  • Saved 200 work hours per month across the ad operations team with automated ingestion of campaign reports

  • Improved forecasting accuracy and enabled sales operations to deploy a targeted vertical strategy
