Background:

Emodo successfully entered the mobile advertising market with a strong mobile-carrier data differentiation, but with the release of iOS 14.5 introducing per-app privacy approvals, it was clear that mobile data was going to be impacted. Drawing on Emodo’s talented AI engineers and data scientists and Emodo saw an opportunity to improve native ad units beyond the prevalent, underwhelming typical static offerings. Emodo created Adapt Ads - AI-powered native units that are richer and smarter than standard native for both advertisers and publishers, all without the use of personal data. Emodo Adapt Ads dynamically change ad elements not only to drive increased ad performance, but also to match publisher layouts.

Jay’s Role:

  • Define publisher strategy, leveraging header bidding to onboard direct publisher partners

  • Create market requirements documents, go-to-market strategy, and marketing materials

  • Analyze reporting data to ensure creative animations and placements deliver on value proposition

  • Act as interim product manager, generating exchange product requirements, bid request differentiation, testing, and troubleshooting

Results:

  • Six-figure revenues at launch, with a projected seven-figure first-year revenue

  • Over 100 mobile publishers onboarded prior to launch

  • Diversification of Emodo’s product offerings outside of data and inventory
